A Q-switched laser builds up light energy inside the device and releases it in very short, high-intensity pulses rather than as a continuous beam. Each pulse targets a specific pigment, such as tattoo ink, and breaks it into tiny fragments without heating the surrounding skin. The body's natural processes then clear the fragments. This precision has made Q-switched Nd:YAG technology a cornerstone of pigment treatment in dermatology.
Both Q-switched Nd:YAG systems supplied by MERGE operate at two wavelengths. The 1064 nm wavelength penetrates deeper and is used for deeper pigmentation, vascular targets and dark inks such as black and blue. The 532 nm wavelength treats superficial pigmented lesions and brighter inks such as red and orange.
A Q-switched and long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser using 1064 nm and 532 nm with Pulse Train (triple pulse) technology. It is used for tattoo removal, laser toning, melasma and hair bleaching, as well as acne, acne scars and ageing skin.
A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with a Photoacoustic Twin Pulse (PTP) mode that splits energy into two fast pulses to reduce thermal damage. It also offers a Top-Hat mode for homogeneous energy, an auto-adjustable spot size and an auto-calibration system.
MERGE LLC supplies Q-switched laser systems to dermatology clinics, spa centres and hospitals across the UAE, supplied brand-new. Our specialists help you match the system to your treatment menu, and every installation includes clinical training and after-sales support.
Key points
Energy is released in very short bursts that fragment pigment without heating the surrounding skin.
1064 nm reaches deeper pigment and dark inks; 532 nm treats superficial pigment and bright inks.
One platform covers tattoos, melasma, epidermal nevi, pigmented and vascular lesions and laser toning.
Twin-pulse and Top-Hat modes reduce heat build-up and deliver homogeneous energy.

Yes. Both Genesis-Q and Lucid Q-PTP are suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker complexions common in the UAE, because ultra-short pulses limit thermal injury to surrounding tissue.
Several. For the Lucid Q-PTP, most patients need 6–10 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart, depending on tattoo size, colour and skin type.
